Edo was recruited by the current world champion team (Jolly Racing) and by Honda Italia HM.
WHO IS EDOARDO D’AMBROSIO? Born in Chieti on 5 September 1990, he lives in Bergamo (BG) where he lives and trains in the famous Bergamo valleys.
He grew up with a passion for endure racing passed on by his father; he begins riding at the age of 14 on a 50cc mini-enduro bike.
In 2005 he participates in both the regional and Italian championships, easily winning the former and garnering an excellent showing in the Italian championship. He is noticed by Fantic Motor, who assigns him to its new motorcycle for the 2006 season where he places second in the Italian championships.
In 2007 riding a 125cc TM for Team M.C. Ostra, he wins third place in the National championship. In 2008, he becomes the National champion.
In 2009 Edo debuts in the Under 23 world enduro championship riding a KTM 450 for Iron Team. That same year he becomes the Italian champion in the 4-stroke category and is rated the best Under 23 in Italy. He is summoned by F.M.I. to represent Italy in the six-day enduro in Portugal. The year ends exceptionally with his being signed by Husaberg Italia to work on developing a new “inclined” engine.
2010 is a year full of surprises. 2011 starts riding the HONDA 450T for Team Zanardo where after several competitions, he has excellent results. The season ends with Edo as uncontested vice champion for E2. He is placed the world’s top 10 by finishing 10th, and the head coach of the Italian enduro team summons him to defend Italy’s colors during the six days of Finland.
In 2012 he races for KTM with Team “BORDONE-FERRARI”. The season starts with excellent results in the world championships, where his consistently places in the top 5. He is ranked 7th overall in the world.
In 2013 he races for Yamaha’s Blue team. He is well supported but due to missing two races, he places 10th overall.
2014 is the year Edo returns to Honda, the former world champion motorcycle, and is trained by their World Champion Team.
